When chocolate attacks

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate has been having a bit of a flavour experiment of late, which is potentially an example of a brand eagerly defending its territory and trying to attract a few new customers. Alternatively it could be the sign of a midlife crisis…

One of these flavours is Dairy Milk Toffee Popcorn. I bought this because it was on offer and it sounded interesting in a freaky sort of way.

Opening the bar there were lots of bits of popcorn, more than the figure of 16% led me to expect, which looked promising! However with the first piece I realised that something was very odd, it turns out the popcorn is lightly Salted Caramel Coated Popcorn Pieces.

Salted caramel is normal, but I wasn’t expecting toffee popcorn to be salted! That will teach me not to read the small print!

Apart from the two squares eaten for testing (one for me, one for the Other Half) the bar has been sitting in the fridge for a week now.

It is almost unheard of for food to go uneaten in this household and M (my-OH) is a bit of a chocolate fiend so it is pretty drastic! I am at the stage where posting it back to Cadbury’s is sounding fun!
