In order to balance out the aggravation and piles of paperwork that have resulted from starting the moving house process I seem to be buying lots of treats.
The latest treat was a Hotel Chocolat end of season sale box. This is a sort of lucky dip where you give them money and you get six random packs of their chocolates for a slightly cheaper than if you selected them knowingly.
I’d looked at doing this previously but had never done so, but this time seemed as good a time as any! That said I am rationing them out… or at least trying!
So far we’ve eaten two:
The Caramel Batons – which are chocolate infused with caramel, these were very nice and vanished far too quickly!
The Cherry Giandujas were ok, although I did have to look up a “gianduja” was. The internet tells me that gianduja is a chocolate spread bulked up with 30% hazelnut paste, the creation of a crafty chap trying to stretch out his chocolate supplies when the British still ruled the seas and were blockading the Mediterranean.
They could have done with more cherry taste, but I wouldn’t have tried them if it wasn’t for the box, so will call that a win.
I am going to try to make the other four packs last a little longer…
