Salmon Bacon – What could go wrong?

I do honestly want to eat healthily and I do make an effort, but sometimes my good intentions steer me incorrectly.

Like deciding that salmon bacon was worth trying – I like bacon, I’ve been vegetarian so I know exactly what it is like to not have it but at the same time I am aware that it isn’t fabulously healthy… at all

salmon bacon

Salmon bacon sounds good on paper, for example it contains 192 calories per 100g – which contrasts sharply with real bacon having about 275 calories in the same weight There is also a significant fat content difference.

However it tastes like fish, sliced fish, but still clearly fish!

It came with a sachet of sweet syrup to pour over (or dip?) which just added to the oddness in my opinion. It might work well for a more US style fish bacon, waffle and sauce meal, but I’d much rather have the treat of a bacon sandwich for breakfast!
