Curious: Dean Koontz, satan and spam

I was going to post about something completely different, but then I stopped to check my spam comments folder.

It had a fair few comments in it – some were legitimate comments that WordPress had unfairly condemned as spam, but most were total spam.

In fact most of them were clearly spam and curiously were all on the same post from 2013 – my ramblings on the film adaptation of Dean Koontz’s ‘Phantoms

As if this isn’t odd enough, and it is, the comments themselves are really weird. For example:

“Hi еverybody, hither eveгy unmatched іs sharing thesе familiarity, thus it’s
ripe to reаd tҺis entanglement site, and I victimized to call this
website аll tҺe metre.”

Uh huh, oh course, I can totally see how a film about a town full of dead people led to this comment linking to a co.za website that I am so not visiting.

“Howdy! Тhis іs mƴ first visit to yoսr blog! Wе are
a groսр of voluunteers and starting a new initiative іn a community in the ѕame niche.
Yoսr blog prоvided us valuable informatiοn to աork on. You ɦave
ɗоne a wonderful job!”

Oh fab, so you are trying to promote the rise of the Ancient Evil too? Via your crumby attempt to promote your video download site.

Hopefully that is as weird as my day gets today.
