‘Defenseless’ is the first book in the Somerton Security Book series – the second one is planned for release in mid 2018 apparently.
The plot sounds fairly paperthin and I did think twice before reading it: Georgia Bennett left the military and took on a private security job – the body guarding stuff not the Blackwater style stuff
As punishment for an incident involving an animal rights protester with a can of paint and a politician’s wife wearing a mink stole Georgia finds herself babysitting a technical genius who happens to contact for the Department of Defence.
So far so good right? The paperthin bit kicks in when the technical genius is gorgeous and they are both smitten with each other.
To be fair there is peril and they get to run around a lot to solve a mystery or two – there are also a few sex scenes, and a trailer park – and a sex scene in a trailer park…
The book is fine overall, the ending wants to hook you into buying the next one – I’m personally not that bothered about doing so to be honest!
