Nails: Skulls

I’m trying to recall how this posting lark went and apparently Wednesdays were trying to inspire me to actually grow my nails and do pretty things with them

Well this is Thursday so I’m late, however the thought is totally there.

Skulls seem appropriate so close to Halloween and to the Day Of The Dead, and who doesn’t like a pile of the skulls of their enemies?

Nails: The Nightmare Before Christmas – “That’s twice this month you’ve slipped deadly nightshade into my tea and run off. “

I’m still waiting for work to confirm what their plan is, I suspect that they actually don’t have one and are just reacting in spasms & twitches – much like a fish who has swallowed the hook only to realise that this might be a dumb idea.

In the meantime I am twisting the lyrics to all sorts of things to fit my mood, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ has lots of wonderful opportunities for this, for example “Kidnap the Sandy Claws, beat him with a stick, lock him up for ninety years, see what makes him tick” sounds a wonderful thing to do to my CEO.

There are lots of Nightmare inspired nails lurking on the internet, although not *that* many which feature Jack looking like he has been repeatedly hit with the aforementioned stick…

Poor old Jack.

Nails: Pumpkins – The bigger the better

I’ve already bought a green Cadburys Creme egg so it must be nearly Halloween and that means pumpkins!

It would be fab if I was in a location where carving a pumpkin was meaningful this year, however that might be too much to hope for, so for now I might need to have a little more patience and plan less messy versions of pumpkin carving.

*sigh* I really want to be able to grow my own giant pumpkins now.

Halloween Nails – I wish that every day was Halloween

It would be lovely if every day was Halloween and I could wear flamboyant nails without scaring too many Clients, however in the real world I have a short time-window where I can get away with it – so every nail counts!

Even with the Halloween grace period there is a balance to be sought between cute and scary. For examples these are too scary to get away with at work and would be really hard to coordinate with any outfit.

These are possibly too cutesy, I can’t exactly work out why there is a blue zombie rabbit!

The white is too stark for my tastes (and skin tone) – although the little spider is cute:

I really love the purple, pink and black contrast,  but there is a little too much white on the witch nails – maybe it is meant to be the moon? I also think that one witch would have been sufficient.

I often have mixed feelings about textured nails but these provide an interesting contrast to the cute black and white skulls. They are also work-friendly if no one looks too closely!
